For many years, Amber was my favorite character on the show. And like I said, Mae Whitman forever. Does Amber still play the guitar? Does Amber even have medical insurance? Does she have any employable skills other than having been a receptionist and occasional musician-whisperer at the Luncheonette?
Plus, Zeek yelling at Drew about how his grandson let him down? Ugh, you are monster. I get it; heart surgery is scary. Also, for people who are aging, that house has a lot of stairs, including stairs to the front door. Good luck. Please all go away for forever; go get your own shows about your own families and leave us to Braverman it out in peace. When Adam thanked Lauren, she said she loved Haddie and the look of realization quickly washed over Adam's face.
The best part of Haddie's return was when the show subtly addressed Haddie's disappearance from the show. Let's hope she listens to her dad next season. Progress for Joel and Julia: Joel Sam Jaeger and Julia Erika Christensen were brought back together, at least for a whole day, when Victor wins a school-wide essay contest and reads his piece in front of the school.
The day ends with Julia and Joel in Sydney's bed reminiscing about the day Sydney was born. Although some fans had their fingers crossed for a definite reunion, it makes sense that things were left positive yet ambiguous, considering Julia slept with Mr.
Knight only two episodes ago. But hey, at least we all got to learn that the first time Joel ever rose his voice to the Braverman clan, his fly was down, which is pretty hilarious. The most loathed TV characters. Drew's belated declaration: Drew Miles Heizer is totally going to be one of those guys who always has a girlfriend, right? And even though Natalie spent the first-half of the season playing hard to get, and he spent the second-half of the season doing the same, now they're together for realz!
As she's getting on the shuttle to back to Portland, she tells Drew she loves him and Drew He's frustrated because he doesn't have a car or money to go see her, but fortunately, while Zeek Craig T. Nelson and Camille Bonnie Bedelia are moving out of the house, Zeek presents Drew with one of the classic cars he's been restoring and says it was meant for Drew the entire time.
In the end, Drew misses one of those classic big Braverman dinners to drive up to Portland, scoop Natalie up in his arms and tell her he loves her. She came in for the table read and I was really stoked to work with her then.
But you know in this business, a lot of it is kismet and I think this is the way that we should have worked together. She told me she actually was pitching it.
Go get Street or Riggins or somebody! Everybody at Parenthood who decided to let me be on the show was on board with the idea of having a little familiarity by casting someone who plays her future husband and thought that it would earn the show some good will with the fans.
As a fan of the show, I was a little scared. I always say that one-word scenes are the hardest and think I was wrong. I think probably a no-line scene — at least at this point for me — is the hardest thing to do. But all of my fears were quickly put away when I walked in and, as you would expect the Bravermans to be, the cast was so incredibly welcoming and supportive. It was difficult for me. I wanted to stay spoiler-free so I could watch it as a fan.
I just want to stay spoiler free! As a fan, it was a dream come true. After I witnessed the shooting of the final scene, Jason got up and delivered a speech. Blindsided by Zeek! Pass the tissues. Seriously, I cried longer and harder when I gave myself a paper cut yesterday. In the waiting room, the gang is a bit self-absorbed and trying to distract themselves.
Julia thinks she likes him. Sarah thinks she likes him. The Twizzler marketing department really likes him. Later, Joel calls Julia at the hospital and offers his care and support.
After some hugging and tears running out of tissues over here! Good news, right? Then why am I so scared?
